This briefing was submitted as part of a Women Equalities Select Committee consultation on sexual harassment in public places. It includes:

  • Information on the extent to which sexual harassment is perpetrated, tolerated and ignored in schools
  • Our research into online harassment
  • Data focused on the prevalence of blame culture and its effect on attitudes to gender equality
  • The impact of harassment on women’s representation in politics/the public sphere
  • Our recommendations to tackle the problem of sexual harassment in public places, including the development of good quality Relationships and Sex Education, tackling gendered bullying in schools and recognising misogyny as a hate crime
