The Fawcett Society is delighted to announce a number of new Trustees including Baroness Anne Jenkin and Ayesha Hazarika who are joining our board.

Baroness Jenkin is a Conservative Peer who co-founded Women2Win and campaigns on women’s representation within the Conservative Party. Ayesha Hazarika is a political commentator, broadcaster and award winning stand-up comedian. She was special adviser to Ed Miliband MP and Harriet Harman MP and helped to draft the Equality Act (2010).

They are also joined on the board by Emily Anstead, Head of Trusts and Foundations at the British Library and an experienced fundraiser and Liz Moseley, a senior Communications and marketing expert.

Commenting on the new recruits, Fiona Mactaggart, Fawcett Chair said:

“These trustees bring new strengths to Fawcett, with experience of successful fundraising, and of winning political campaigns. With them on board, I am confident that we can speed up progress towards real equality between women and men.”

Baroness Anne Jenkin said:

“It is an honour to join the board of the Fawcett Society in this centenary year of first votes for women. Fawcett is at the forefront of driving forward the campaign for sex equality. I look forward to playing my part in making that happen.”

Ayesha Hazarika added:

"I’m thrilled to be joining the Fawcett Society board. As a proud, passionate feminist who has worked at the heart of politics, I have long admired their work & look forward to joining them in the quest for gender equality. We have much work to do.”

Emily Anstead said:

“I am honoured and excited to be elected on to the Fawcett Society board. Gender equality is hugely important to me and I look forward to bringing my fundraising expertise to support what Fawcett does.”

Liz Moseley added:

“Fawcett already punches above its weight in terms of profile. But the more visible we are, the more impact we can have. The rules of the creative communications game change all the time and I’m looking forward to working with the team to develop big, confident campaign ideas that get people talking and joining."
