19 NOVEMBER 2016

We are excited to launch the Spirit of 2012 Spirit of Women Changemakers small grants programme, delivered by Fawcett in partnership with BE Group.

Spirit of 2012 (Spirit) created the Spirit of Women Changemakers small grants programme  (Changemakers) to mark and celebrate the centenary of the iconic moment in 1918 when women first won the right to vote. Nearly 100 years later women’s rights have taken great strides but there remains much to do to ensure sex equality.

Changemakers will fund projects that creatively challenge the damaging gender norms and stereotypes which continue to limit women’s freedom to express themselves and live as the lives they choose.

Changemakers will offer grants of between £5,000 and £15,000 to organisations to deliver new projects which offer creative, cultural, sporting or volunteering responses to the following challenges:

  • Improving women’s body confidence and challenging objectification in all areas of life, including in personal relationships;
  • Challenging traditional gendered caring roles and the undervaluing of care

We welcome applications from a range of organisations including, but not exclusively, registered charities and community interest companies.

The deadline for expressions of interest is 22nd December 2016.
