As a woman, mother, midwife and historian specialising in women's history, I have been campaigning for the improvement of conditions, treatment and empowerment of women for over thirty years. The Ladies of Ipswich in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century were at the forefront of the campaign for women's advancement and empowerment; many of them cousins of Millicent Fawcett. I tell their story through the medium of their clothes and am using their story to shape the next chapter of our own and our daughters' stories.
