Our school, college and university supporters are some of our most energetic and enthusiastic women’s rights champions. Why not use that energy and help spread the word of gender equality with your fellow students?

  • Fashion show: Fashion shows are a popular way among student unions to raise funds and let people know how Fawcett’s work can change lives. Ask for donations from student clubs and societies from your university. Get your fashion and textiles department involved. Ask local stockists and high street stores – most are happy to lend clothes in exchange for advertising, eg a logo on your posters or flyers. Make your own ethical outfits. Get together a team of reliable and enthusiastic people who are willing to help organise the show including sorting a venue, along with models, hair and makeup stylists, and you’re good to go!
  • FawcettFest: A live music event is a great way to raise money and make noise about Fawcett. Campuses brim with musical talent so use personal contacts and get in touch with student societies. Also get to know your local music scene beyond campus. The venue can make or break your event so make sure you choose the right one. Student unions often have venues you can use for free or at a discount.
  • Pub Quiz: Pub quizzes are the perfect starter fundraising event. They’re cheap, fun and there are potential venues all over the place. They are a great way of attracting new members who might not feel ready to join Fawcett, but are keen to get involved in other ways.

We can help you plan and organise any of the above ideas, so get in touch!

Raising money isn't only incredibly important to make sure we exist to keep campaigning for women’s rights - it can also be lots of fun!

Donations - from big to very small - fund all of our work, and our young supporters are some of our best fundraisers. There are loads of ways you can fundraise for Fawcett. The more creative the better! But if you're struggling to get started, here's some ideas to get your imagination flowing:

  • Put on a gig at your school. Make the most of the talent at your school but organising a live music event or talent show. Choose a snappy name for your event like ‘Make Some Noise for Millicent!’ or something similar. Get teachers to do a song or dance, set yourself a fundraising target. Can you beat £300? Get a favourite teacher to pledge to sing; let your imagination run wild!
  • Have a non-uniform day. Ask your head teacher if the proceeds of your school's next non-uniform day can go to Fawcett.
  • Hold a Fawcett bake sale. Everyone likes cake, so make the most of this by organising a fundraising cake sale.

Whatever you decide, or if you have ideas of your own, we’re here to help. Get in touch and let us know your plans!
