UK employers with over 250 employees are now required to report their gender pay gaps by April 2018; a law that The Fawcett Society has long campaigned for. We want employers to see this as an opportunity to address the productivity gap, as tackling workplace inequality could help 840,000 women into work and will allow them to reach their full potential.

We are hosting a series of Gender Pay Gap reporting conferences with Neil Stewart Associates to help businesses drive positive change.

GENDER PAY GAP MOVING FORWARD 2018

REPUTATION, IMPLEMENTATION, COMPENSATION
22 May 2018

This Gender Pay Gap series event focused on the first year lessons of Gender Pay Gap reporting. It highlighted:

  • Key lessons from 1st year implementation, analysis and public reaction
  • Successful workplace strategies in presenting the figures
  • Agenda for action over the next 2 years

THE GENDER PAY GAP CONFERENCE 2017

The Prime Minister has suggested that in addition to gender pay gap reporting, companies and public organisations will have to move toward reporting pay gap information by ethnicity, age and job grade.

Companies and public organisations are moving into new forms of accountability driven by the government’s transparency agenda, although based on limited published data.

This will have widespread implications for how companies and organisations are seen by the public, their customers and, very importantly, by their own staff and will almost inevitably result in simplistic league tables.

9,000 businesses with over 250 employees, plus public bodies, are now on a steep learning curve to report their gender pay gap by April 2018 and shape their response and reaction accordingly.

The 2nd Annual Gender Pay Gap programme took place on October 12th 2017 to help employers benchmark their work against the best in the UK; see how other companies are approaching the challenge; and learn the most up–to-date solutions to meet the timetable for publication.

The Fawcett Society's campaigning led to new gender pay gap reporting legislation, which requires organisations with over 250 employees to publish data on their gender pay gaps, including bonuses, by April 2018. We want employers to see this as an opportunity to address the productivity gap, as tackling workplace inequality could help 840,000 women into work and would allow them to reach their full potential.
