People's History Museum Votes for Women Centenary Celebration

The event will honour the dedication of suffrage campaigners in Manchester, which was the birthplace of the formidable Emmeline Pankhurst. The evening will include speeches from:

• Helen Pankhurst, international development and women's rights activist
• Sam Smethers, Chief Executive, The Fawcett Society
• Carolyn Saunders, Head of Pensions, Pinsent Masons
• Cllr Brenda Warrington, Executive Leader of Tameside Council
• Doris Amankwaah, Outreach Worker, The Fawcett Society
• Helen Antrobus, People's History Museum Programme Manager

Millicent Fawcett was a tireless campaigner for gender equality, who was commemorated with the first female statue in Parliament Square this year. The event will be a special evening of celebration, inspiration and insight into the lives of women's rights campaigners past and present.

We are not charging for this event but we are encouraging invitees to please make a donation to support our work or give the gift of Fawcett membership to a loved one. Fawcett is at the forefront of the fight for gender equality and women’s rights today. Together we will make 2018 a transformational year for all women.

This event is delivered in partnership with the People's History Museum, and Pinsent Masons.
