We remember the suffrage campaigners of the past and their struggle over many decades for women’s rights including the right to vote. They faced many barriers and set-backs. Yet they persisted. Their triumph inspires us to know that we too can succeed. Anything is possible. But there are also those who would turn the clock back. Those who would undo the progress of the past. The truth is equality won’t happen on its own. So we have to fight on and find the next generation who will step forward to drive change. The moment becomes the movement. Join us. Events Fundraisers Partners #OurTimeNow Home Millicent Fawcett Statue unveiling You are invited to the historic unveiling of one of the most significant statues of our time. Millicent Fawcett will become the first women commemorated with a statue in Parliament Square, and the statue will be the first in the square created by a female artist, Gillian Wearing OBE. Join us in Parliament Square on Tuesday 24 April from 11am. You can arrive from 10:45am to get your space. The unveiling event is open air, so please dress appropriately for the weather.
