Exploring the economic impact of Brexit on women

A joint meeting organised by the Women’s Budget Group and Fawcett Society as part of our #FaceHerFuture campaign.

Hosted by Baroness Drake

Brexit will mean new trading arrangements for the UK, not just with the EU but with the rest of the world. It is well established that trade agreements can have significantly different impacts on different groups of women and men as a result of differences in economic position, caring responsibilities and political power.

  • What impact will the UK’s post Brexit trade deals have on women’s employment, and on women as consumers and users of public services?
  • What lessons can be learned from international experience?

Join us as we discuss these questions and share the findings of a new report by the Women’s Budget Group and the Fawcett Society, Exploring the economic impact of Brexit on women.

Confirmed speakers include:

Marzia Fontana  – UK Women’s Budget Group
Faiza Shaheen – CLASS
Chair: Sam Smethers – Fawcett Society
