What is RSS?
The most commonly used description for the abbreviation RSS is "Really Simple Syndication" and, as it implies, is a way of syndicating web pages. Most commonly used for news items, any web page can be syndicated.
The technology used to store the news items is called XML and using this coding language web masters can create a list of news items called a "News feed".
These news feeds can be subscribed to and read by all different applications such as web browsers, email software but most commonly RSS News reading software.
You can subscribe to the newsfeeds by either draging the orange RSS icon to your newsreader
or right clicking on the icon, copying the shortcut and pasting the feed address into your newsreader.
