Volunteer Database Manager
The Fawcett Society seeks an experienced database manager to maximise the existing fundraising database for best management of our supporter base.
The Fawcett Society
The Fawcett Society is the UK campaign for equality between women and men. We trace our roots to 1866 when Millicent Garrett Fawcett took up the peaceful campaign for women’s vote. Today we campaign on a range of issues including women’s political representation, the gender pay gap, and rape.
With a modest team of nine staff and 4 interns, Fawcett is a small but powerful campaign group. We have a supporter base of in excess of 12,000 people across the UK, 3,000 of which are members, making a monthly regular gift to enable the Fawcett Society to continue its vital work promoting and protecting UK women’s rights. Fawcett also benefits from the support of a number of charitable trusts, which help us to maintain our position as the UK’s leading gender equality campaign.
We use Donor Strategy to manage our contacts, and we seek a volunteer with experience of managing charity databases (ideally Donor Strategy) to help us to perform data selections and run reports for fundraising campaigns; and to shape the database to maximise the software’s potential for better management of our supporter base. Day-to-day data entry is performed by a Fundraising Intern.

· get up-to-speed with the data;
· perform data selections and run reports for Gift Aid claims, cash appeal mailings, and events invitations;
· perform a review of how data is held, with recommendations for the consistent and practical management of Fawcett contacts;
· put these recommendations into practice by shaping the contacts management system for the consistent and practical management of Fawcett contacts.
Person Specifications
Essential:
· experience of managing access-based database software for charities, including performing queries/filters and reports;
· understanding of the requirements for managing fundraising constituents, including segmentation and data protection requirements;

Desirable:
· experience of handling data for direct marketing;
· experience of Donor Strategy software.
