The Children and Families Bill
This has been introduced into Parliament and it covers areas of particular interest to Fawcett, including policies relating to shared parental leave, flexible working and family justice. Fawcett has been working closely with Government around proposals related to these areas and recently gave evidence to the Public Bill Committee. Read more about Fawcett’s work on the Bill
Women and Equality Questions Sessions
These regular sessions see MPs able to pose questions to the Minister for Women and Equalities.

2013 Budget / the forthcoming Comprehensive Spending Review
On Wednesday 21st March the Chancellor presented his 2013 Budget. Since the Emergency Budget of June 2010, women have been disproportionately affected by many of the policies adopted by the Government to reduce the deficit – read our response to the most recent budget.

The Queen’s Speech
On the 9th May, Her Majesty the Queen presented the government’s plans for the coming year – written by the government and delivered by the reigning monarch, the Queen’s Speech sets out the measures the government wants to get through Parliament in the year ahead. Read our response
All Party Parliamentary Group on Sex Equality
The All Party Parliamentary Group for Sex Equality, made up of MPs from all parties, holds regular meetings to consider different aspects of women’s equality. The Fawcett Society acts as ‘secretariat’ for this group – find out more.
